The Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus![]()

The award-winning Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus (MLGC) is the North West's most vibrant community-based choir. Singing in four-part acapella, featuring music drawn from musicals, world music, jazz and pop. Under the professional musical direction of Jeff Borradaile, their voices lift in the spirit of community and celebration.
From the humble beginnings of five people singing in a pub, eight years later MLGC has over one hundred members and performs around the world. MLGC have sung in Berlin alongside the German LGBT choral group Cantare, in Montreal winning the Bronze Medal at the first World Outgames in 2006, and with the LGBT Canadian choir Extravaganza Chorale hosted in Manchester.
Closer to home, MLGC performs at a variety of community events, including Manchester Pride and the annual World Aids Day vigil. We are looking forward to July 2009, where we will sing again in the international choral competition of the World Outgames, in Copenhagan. Hoping for gold and celebrating, with others, LGBT spirit in song.
For Eloquent Protest our voices are in celebration of peace:
Let it start here with me
Oh let mine be a voice
And in the face of the beast
Oh let mine be a voice
Until the breaths in me cease
Oh let mine be a voice for peace
(D. Fogelberg)
